The chosen few - you know it makes sense
Pre-boarding our flight to Houston the attendant asked for those having SSSS on their boarding passes to come forward. I was one of the "chosen few," chosen in the sense that I was a random sample, selected for an extra security check. It was a swab test on various parts of my clothing and on my hand luggage. On the one hand it was a minor inconvenience but on the other it was largely reassuring that security is so rigourous. The upside was that we got boarded first. There are over 396 passengers on this Boeing 777 BA flight. Around 10% were chosen. It reminded me of the verse that says " many are called but few are chosen. " It's is so easy to be deluded and remain in the "many" category by putting the claims and commands of Jesus on "the long finger." It's easy to "kick the can down the road" and say mañana, mañana.
