The chosen few - you know it makes sense

Pre-boarding our flight to Houston the attendant asked for those having SSSS on their boarding passes to come forward. I was one of the "chosen few," chosen in the sense that I was a random sample, selected for an extra security check. It was a swab test on various parts of my clothing and on my hand luggage.

On the one hand it was a minor inconvenience but on the other it was largely reassuring that security is so rigourous. The upside was that we got boarded first.

There are over 396 passengers on this Boeing 777 BA flight. Around 10% were chosen.

It reminded me of the verse that says "many are called but few are chosen.

It's is so easy to be deluded and remain in the "many" category by putting the claims and commands of Jesus on "the long finger." It's easy to "kick the can down the road" and say mañana, mañana.

Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Listen to the scriptures: "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

There are no silent disciples! If you haven't said you are one, likelihood is you are not.

So if you would like to be a part of the "chosen few" please ensure you do what it says in Romans 10 says :
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ... for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

I believe that "this life is only a training ground for the life to come." Join "the Kingdom gym" with me and become spiritually fit by turning  to God's way.

You can become part of the "chosen few" or you can remain part of the "many that are called".  It is a stark choice that lies before us all.

I hope this blog encourages you to choose life. Abundant and eternal. You know it makes sense.
